Obituary of Lee DuBois
(Retired Production Manager – Boeing, Arnprior)
With heavy hearts yet grateful for a long and happy life well lived, the DuBois family announces that their patriarch, Leon Thomas “Lee” DuBois passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital
on Tuesday evening, January 2, 2024. He was 13 days shy of his 95th birthday.
Beloved husband for over 71 years of Mary Lou (nee Isbell). Much loved Dad and mentor of Robert (Marcos Aviles) of Long Island, NY; John (Cathy) of Arnprior and Bill (Jocelyne) of Ottawa.
Cherished and very proud “Grandpa” of Paula Mulligan (Jordan), Jennifer Theros (Robbie Harmer), Nicholas DuBois (Sara de la Salle), Sydney DuBois (Taylor McAulay) and Liam DuBois
and “Great-Grandpa” of Brady, Cohan, Declan, Kaleb and Madden.
Lee was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Cecelia DuBois; his brother, Norman DuBois (Marian of New Jersey) and his sister, Delores Peacher (late John).
Lee was born in Philadelphia, where he started a lifelong and very successful career at Boeing and his obsession with golf. Lee would often say that he knew for a fact that God loved him, because in 1969 He sent him to Arnprior.
His wholehearted love for his family, friends, and extended Boeing family was obvious to anyone who met him.
He was an outstanding father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a devoted husband to the love of his life and soul mate, Mary Lou.
He always had time for a chat, a good sermon, a quick golf tip, and especially a good laugh with anyone who would listen.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Earl Gordon, the nurses and staff at the Arnprior Hospital who took such amazing care of Lee in his final days. Your kindness and caring will never be forgotten.
Family and friends were invited to a Funeral Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside
on Saturday morning, January 13, 2024 at 11 o’clock followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
The Funeral Mass was webcast live for those unable to attend.
For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ottawa Mission would be greatly appreciated by Lee’s family.
