Obituary of Joan Cunningham

(nee Sarginson)

With sadness, the family announces that Joan passed away peacefully at the Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew on Saturday morning, January 6, 2024. She was 94. Beloved wife of the late Ken (2020). Joan was predeceased by her son Garnet and her daughter Joanne. Treasured and loved “Grandma” of Tammy Willmott (Kevin), Phillip Cunningham (Amy), Victoria Cunningham (Doug) and Katie-Paige Cunningham. Cherished great grandma of 14 great-grandchildren: Tommy Wallace, Jose Miron, Cody Miron, Gerald Willmott, Tiffany Willmott, Kyle Willmott, Jade Cunningham, Hayley Cunningham, Piper Cunningham, Daniel Cunningham, Eddie Cunningham, Christopher Simpson, Jayce Simpson and Jordan Cunningham as well as 14 great-great-grandchildren: Michael-John Maw, Bentley Wallace, Xavier DeVries, Colton Forsyth, Lincoln Forsyth, Keagen Forsyth, Noah Miron, Lea Lavoie, Oliver Lavoie, Mia-belle Willmott, Karter Willmott, Hayden Willmott and Maverick Willmott. Joan will also be missed by her sister Joyce Berezowski (late Ed) and her brother Ron (Judy). Daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (nee Garner) Sarginson.

For Joan, family always came first. Weekly family dinners were always on no matter who as able to make it on any given week. She had the opportunity to travel all over the world with Ken and enjoyed every minute of it. Joan also had no shortage of hobbies that she enjoyed. From crafting and knitting to euchre and watching hockey and even a rabbit farm in Woodlawn at one stage of her life with Ken, there was never a dull moment. She will be truly missed.

Joan’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Friday, January 12^th from 11:00 to 12:45. A funeral service for Joan will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel on Friday at 1 o’clock. Spring Interment Whyte’s Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour.

The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend.
