Obituary of Peter Jacques
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Peter Jacques of Ashdad, announce that he passed away, peacefully and surrounded by his family, at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Friday evening, February 16, 2024, in his 72nd year.
Treasured life partner and husband of Mary-Jane (nee Bell) for almost 40 years. He loved being a parent, and his children, Margaret (Cory Daley) of Arnprior and David of Ashdad, knew that they were cherished and loved unconditionally. The family has many memories of him to hold dear, he participated fully in their adventures.
Peter loved living in the Ashdad area, surrounded by nature. He farmed in the area for many years and was slowly settling into retirement at the time of his passing. He loved music and imparted that love to both his children. There was always music in their home and his duets with David, especially, were both joyful and loud.
Peter is survived by two sisters, Patricia McCormac (Berard) (late Frank) and Josephine Fishenden (late Jack) as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Gertie Jacques, sister, Rose Marie Regan (late Gary) and two brothers, Joseph “Sonny” Jacques and Louis Jacques.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Renfrew County Paramedics and the staff at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital for their care.
A Tribute to Honour Peter will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Thursday afternoon, April 18th at 1:30. Refreshments to follow.
