Obituary of Mike Denis

With sadness, yet grateful for a life well lived until the very end, the family announces that Mike passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home while surrounded by loved ones on Friday afternoon, March 8, 2024.

He was 80 years young (although he would argue that he was 81).

Beloved husband, best friend and partner of Linda (nee Cameron). Cherished Dad of Lynda Denis (Glen) and Darlene Denis-Friske (Kevin) and step-dad of Tamara Jeffery and Jeffrey Sinfield (Tonya). Cherished and proud “Papa” of Conor (Kyla), Sydney (Noah), Jacksen (Perla), Isabella, and Jace.

The last surviving child of the late Joseph and Rose (nee Trepanier) Denis. Mike was predeceased by his only brother, Gerard Denis (late Jeanette) as well as his 2 sisters: Denise Delorme (late Bert) and Reina Bechamp (late Paul).

He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, the Cameron family and his many great friends.

A man of many talents, Mike enjoyed life to the fullest. Work was important to him and a place for the expression of his creativity, innovation, and many incredible talents.

As an exceptional millwright, he had expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, engineering, house building, steel work, welding, and on and on.

The relationships he formed and nurtured throughout his life were everything to him. Time spent with family and friends was special and valued.

Daily trips down to the park in his little buggy to see what was going on meant the world to Mike.

His sense of humour, large personality and ability to make people feel special will be missed yet remembered by the many who had the opportunity to call Mike a friend.

A celebration of life will be held in the gazebo at Robert Simpson Park, Arnprior on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 11 a.m.  to 2 p.m.

Please bring a lawn chair and a story to share.

In his memory, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
