Art was born in Poirierville, Cape Breton on April 4, 1938. He attended primary school there, going on to finish his high school in Halifax. He was introduced to Jeannine on a blind date and they would marry in 1964. They left the East Coast, and their first stop was Montreal, where they spent a couple years before finding their way to Arnprior. Together they built their home and raised their family in this place he was always proud to call home.
Although his work at Boeing was an integral part of his life, Art also took great pride and satisfaction in his family, community and his Church. A devout Catholic, Art played a very active role in the many facets of Parish life. From being an usher, choir member and Eucharistic Minister, Art was always happy to spend time and get to know newcomers. He was friendly, chatty and always interested in what others had to say. He will be missed.
Art’s final care and arrangements were entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation was held on Thursday evening, April 4th from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Friday morning, April 5th from 9:30 to 10:30. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in his beloved St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Friday morning at 11 o’clock.
