Obituary of John Dickson

(Proud Life-Long Farmer)

On Easter Sunday evening, March 31, 2024, John passed away peacefully in his home on the family farm, surrounded by the love of his wife, children, grandchildren and sister. He was 73.

Beloved husband of Darlene (nee Dolan) for almost 50 years.

Loved and treasured Dad of Jolene Dickson (Jason Nicholson), Deanna Dickson (Jeff Gauci) and Andrea Hill (Scott).

Proud and cherished four wheeler and snowmobile driver to his 9 grandchildren: Quinn, Jayden, Landon, Aurora, Celeste, Felix, Kayla, Tessa and Connor.

Dear brother of Mary Carr (late Bob) that he cherished and teased until the very end. Son of the late Murray and Doris (nee Wilson) Dickson. Fondly remembered by the Dolan family.

He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins that were near and far. Also forever missed by many friends, hunting buddies, card-playing camping friends and those who popped in to have a drink or a visit with him over the years.

Special thanks to Dr. Earl Gordon and Dr. Paula Enright for their compassion and care over many years and in his final days.

Dad had a smile that was truly contagious. Over the past months, while meeting with healthcare members, he would win the hearts of many staff when he would flash his big, beautiful grin. We will all miss him dearly.

John’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where extended family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday evening, April 5th from 6-9. A Drop-In Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday afternoon, April 6th at the Kinburn Community Centre, 3045 Kinburn Side Rd., from 1 to 4. Private Interment Pakenham Union Cemetery.
