I always enjoyed spending time with Uncle Harvey. A lot of the time we shared was while he was vacationing at his cottage. He was quite a lighthearted jokester who liked to have fun. He loved to host get-togethers around a fire, and was great at providing tasty treats like homemade jams and good strong coffee. He always had lots of entertaining stories to share about his childhood and youth. Along with his obvious passion for ministering to people, he also had a keen interest in machinery and could discuss the varying quality of different models of automobiles and tractors. He also owned an ATV. He took me bowling for my first time. He would often take us fishing and swimming, or if it was too hot, we might end up at either the Eugenia store or Cedar Lodge for ice cream. Being with Harvey (and his family) was a treat.
