On Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2024, Ed Poole, a longtime farmer from Fitzroy Harbour passed away peacefully at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital following a brief illness. He was 87.
Beloved husband of the late Marion Levesque. Dear brother of the late Audrey Fields.
Special uncle of Linda Poulsen, Donna Jonas (late Wilbert), Ken Fields (Donna), Marg Kight (Ray), Heather Fields and Nancy Dudley (Scott) and great-uncle to many.
Also survived by Marion’s children: Bob Levesque (Jane), Bonnie Clarke and Judy Lesway (John Chowham) and their families. Predeceased by Marion’s daughter, Sharon Sevigny (Terry).
Ed spent his entire life on the farm in Fitzroy Harbour. Transitioning from dairy to beef cattle, Ed eventually took on a job with the Ottawa-Carleton Region providing road maintenance to area highways and byways. An avid member of the Masonic Lodge, Ed eagerly participated in Lodge events in the area. A familiar face at local card parties and community events, Ed enjoyed the company of his wife Marion in later years as they travelled near and far to visit and make memories.
Ed’s final arrangements were entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where visitation was held on Sunday afternoon, April 28th from 2 to 4 p.m.
A Masonic Service took place on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. followed by an Order of the Eastern Star service at 4:20 p.m.
A second visitation was held on Monday morning, April 29th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Ed’s Funeral Service was conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock with interment at St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour.
