Obituary of Terry Godin
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Godin on April 24, 2024. He will be greatly missed by his wife Ann after 60 years of loving devotion. He was a loving father to Laurel (Mike) Neill and Heather (Tim) Harvey and grandfather to Kaitlyn, Madison, Connor and Ryan. His sisters and brother will miss his antics greatly Denice (Len) Lenser, Bonnie (Doug) Clark, Mark (Francine) Godin. Terry was predeceased by his father Romeo, mother Yvonne and brother Melvin.
Terry grew up in Renfrew, Ontario and along the Ottawa River in Rhoddy's Bay. In his early years, he developed a passion for anything motorized - cars, boats, snowmobiles - and continued to do so until the end. He built communities of friends around his home in Stittsville and around his home away from home, on the Miss B Haven in the Thousand Islands.
Terry loved people and people loved Terry. You could always hear him sharing a great story from a folding lawn chair in a beautiful spot on any of the thousand islands, or from his lazy boy chair that he recently moved from Stittsville to Arnprior.
Terry was always at the centre of rowdy gatherings of family and friends. It is the family's request that you bring a favorite Terry story to share with us at the celebration of Terry's life. It will be fun to hear them, remember them, and laugh about them.
A special thank you goes out to all the family and friends that have supported us all over the past several months. The saying “it takes a village” was never truer than at this time.
Terry’s care and arrangements were entrusted to
the Pilon Family Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass was held in St. Francis Xavier Church,
331 Plaunt St S, Renfrew on
Wednesday morning, May 1st at 11 o’clock.
Reception followed in the Parish Hall.
A private family interment will take place at a later date.
If you would like to leave a donation in Terry’s memory, please consider the Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
