Obituary of Ralph Koch
Retired GE Electric, Arnprior
With sadness, the family announces that Ralph passed away peacefully at Almonte Country Haven on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Walter Rolf “Ralph” Koch of Arnprior was 84.
Beloved husband of Mary (nee Turner) Much loved Dad of Laura Koch. Cherished and proud Poppa of Samantha and Michael Koch.
Ralph immigrated from Germany to Canada in 1952. He received his Canadian Citizenship May 28, 1959.
He was a longtime employee of the Emergency Preparedness College in Arnprior however work eventually brought him to General Electric in Arnprior where he specialized as a crane operator and merchandise handler.
Ralph enjoyed life. He enjoyed people. He made friends very easily and always managed to strike up a conversation with both newcomers and old friends alike. He was a regular at the Tim Hortons on Madawaska Boulevard in town where he joined his buddies for lively conversations and debates almost every day of the week.
Though his activities and ability to get around were stifled over these past few months, his spirit remained strong. He will be missed.
Ralph’s final care and arrangements were entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where visitation was held on Thursday morning, May 16th from 9:30 – 10:45 am.
A Service to honour Ralph took place in the Pilon Family Chapel Thursday, morning at 11 o’clock.
Interment at Malloch Road Cemetery.
Reception followed at Pilon’s.
