Obituary of Maureen Murray
(nee Dillon)
With heavy hearts, the family announces that their matriarch passed away peacefully at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 19, 2024;
Maureen Rosemary Murray of Braeside was 71 years of age.
Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Murray (October 8, 2014). Much loved and devoted Mom of Leanne Gordon (Ken), James Murray and Allan Murray (Whitney).
Cherished and proud Granny of Payton and Lila Gordon, Isaac and Haleigh Murray. Dear sister of Gerry Dillon (Jackie), Darrell Dillon (Elizabeth) and Doug Dillon (Isabelle Aveine).
Special sister-in-law of Judy Dekiel-Grandits (Jeff Grandits). Lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Daughter of the late Wilfred and Priscilla (nee Herrick) Dillon.
Predeceased by her brother Kevin.
Maureen was a quiet unassuming woman who spent most of her life in the service of others. Having grown up on the family farm in Braeside, Maureen would graduate from grade 12 at Arnprior District High School.
She went on to become a registered nurse, a title she wore with great pride until the very end of her life. She leaves a legacy of love, faith and kindness.
Loved by all who knew her, Maureen will not be forgotten.
Her final care was entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.
Visitation was held on Wednesday evening, May 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday morning, May 23rd from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside on Thursday morning, May 23rd at 11 o’clock.
A reception followed in the Parish Hall.
