Obituary of Kathleen Girdwood

With sadness, the family announces that Kay passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital while surrounded by loved ones on Thursday morning, June 20, 2024;

Kathleen Marie Girdwood of Arnprior was 86.

Beloved wife of the late Fred Girdwood (2015). Much loved mother of Laurie Coggan (John LeBlanc), Larry Manship and Clark “Jim” Manship (Arlene) and Stepmom of Heather Turcotte (late Kevin), Karen Ryan (Kevin), Wayne Girdwood (Sharon) and Brian Girdwood (Michelle). Predeceased by a son, Daniel Manship.

Lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Daughter of the late William and Grace (nee Wood) Ash.

Kay truly enjoyed life. She participated in many community events and was always happy to help out at the Arnprior Hospital Opportunity Shop.

She enjoyed a game of Euchre and was always willing to step up to join in dancing at a party or event.

Delightful to be around, Kay took a sincere interest in the lives of those around her.

Her smile, her joyful demeanor and her willingness to help out will be remembered by many.

The family wish to acknowledge Clem Smith who became her companion these past few years. She truly enjoyed his company, his humour, his kindness and good nature.

Kay’s final care and arrangements were entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior

where visitation was held on Sunday, June 23^rd from 2 to 4 p.m. and again on Monday morning, June 24^th from 9:30 until service time in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock.

A reception followed with interment at the Elmwood Cemetery, Perth afterward.
