I was so sorry to hear of the passing of David. He was my very first friend.
We started grade one at Wolford #12 at Carley's Corners in September of 1961. It was a little one room schoolhouse and had only about 12 pupils and David and I were the entire grade one class. Back then grade ones only went to class until after lunch when we were put outside to play. We spent a lot of time together. He had a terrific imagination and made us the Bobcat Club, complete with hand drawn buttons that he made at home one weekend. We had wonderful adventures on that school yard. Three years later we moved to a bigger school where the principal saw fit to separate the boys from the girls. I was very sad about that but David loved the company of other boys and I made new friends too. We didn't forget each other though life took us in different directions. He will always have a space in my heart as my first friend.
With my heartfelt sympathy,
Eleanor (Earl) Beelich
