Amelia,Gerry, Darrell and familes you have my deepest condolences at this difficult time. Doug's passing is sad news indeed as way too young. Went to ADHS and St. Joe's with Doug and remember those days fondly. His career took him away from here but always managed an email from time to time over the years to catch up.

Dear Amelia, Gerry and Darrell, I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Through all the sadness of the last few months for your family, I had the chance to chat with Doug for the first time in many years. I treasure that opportunity. I am unable to attend the funeral, but will keep you and all of the family in my thoughts and prayers at that time.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Doug. Doug hired me at Revay and Associates Limited in Ottawa in mid-2022, and during the brief time we worked together, he left an indelible mark on me. His exceptional knowledge of the construction industry and his exemplary management skills were truly inspiring. Although our time together was short, Doug's encouragement to stay updated with industry articles and his unwavering support were invaluable to me.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Doug and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry for to the many family and friends of Doug’s. I am so sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. A great leader, friend and mentor to many. Had the pleasure of working along side Doug whilst he was at Graham. Remember the first time I spoke with Doug in the office he asked me if I’d be willing to work on a Waste Water Plant and I said I typically like to work on buildings that make people smile, and in Doug humor he says “ well don’t you smile after using the washroom?” I laughed. Doug brought me to the side of the industry that I’d never experienced before and taught me a lot. Words to live by as per Doug, Plan the Plan, Build the Plan, Work the Plan. Gone too soon bud!

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Doug. Doug was my manager for many years while I was working for Revay and Associates Ltd. He often brought me coffee in the morning a small touch that I always appreciated. He provided leadership and guidance when it was needed, but he also let you grow as an individual by being open to your ideas and suggestion.
My condolences, and please know that my thoughts are with his daughter Amelia, the family and friends. My deepest sympathies go out to the family of a individual that was my manager for so many years. May God give you the peace that you seek. So sorry to hear of the passing of a great manager.
Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Bessie Anderson Stanley wrote, "He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction." By any measure, Doug lived an incredibly successful life. You'll be greatly missed Doug, but remembered forever.

I got to know and love Doug through Colin. He spent many weekends with us - engaging, smart, always a hit with our canine pack. They sensed his knowing authority and his tenderness as did I. We will miss him and those nights so much.
His love of life not to be lost in the shortness of time on this earth. Fly free sweet Doug. And our love to Amelia and Eva. Jacquie

Doug was a tremendous help to our team especially during our difficult times in and around 2006 and 2007. It seems like such a long time ago. He was extremely talented and capable and he was valued immensely.

Doug will always be the guy for me who tried his best, extremely generous and committed to the task at hand. He was unwavering in his love for Amelia. I will never forget the time when I first met him and I put him to a test. Doug had to pop into the convenience store and asked if we wanted anything, I asked for some speppermint gum. True to Doug’s willingness to please, he searched high and low for that gum, his solution, he bought one of each (peppermint and spearmint) he was a good egg, gentle heart and loving person.

My career trajectory wouldn’t be where it is without Doug and will never be the same without him, I will miss our early morning chats, the listening ear, the advice and helping validate his thoughts around issues and opportunities. Thank you Doug for what you’ve done for me, I will cherish our memories forever, the Indy, on the boat, the concerts, red bull race and in the workplace. Rest in peace my dear friend.
