Obituary of Terry Mahony

(Retired – Royal Ottawa Hospital)

 

With great sadness, the family announces that Terry passed away quite suddenly at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Monday evening, July 22, 2024;

Terrence Michael Mahony of Arnprior was in his 77^th year.

Beloved husband of Nancy Peckett (nee Houston).

Much loved stepdad of Todd Peckett (Joy) and Grandpa Terry of Audrey and Diana.

Dear brother of Tim Mahony, Chris Mahony (Marie-Therese), Paul Mahony (Cynthia) and Mary Jane Norton (Lynn).

Predeceased by 2 brothers, John (late Carolyn) and Patrick. Special brother-in-law of Judi Gordon (Jim) and Bob Houston (Peggy).

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Son of the late Brian and Phyllis (nee Giras) Mahony. Terry grew up in Ottawa.

 

Following his post graduate studies, he began to work at the Royal Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa where he worked his way through the channels to become a forensic orderly prior to his retirement in 2004.

Arnprior has been home to both Terry and Nancy for many years.

Terry had many happy memories of time spent at the Arnprior Golf Course. He enjoyed many sports as well as playing guitar.

Any and all activities surrounding their granddaughters became priorities for Terry and Nancy as they proudly supported and encouraged them in everything they have done.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

 

Terry’s final care has been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.

 

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held in the near future. Day, time and date will be posted here once determined.
