Obituary of Margaret Gibson

(Retired – City of Ottawa)

With heavy hearts, the family announces that Margaret passed away peacefully at home early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2024; Margaret Edith Gibson of Kinburn was 85 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late John Gibson (February 24, 1996). Dearly loved mother of Heather Graham (Jeff) and Donna Leah Gibson.

Cherished and proud “Granny” of Brad Graham (Katie) and Sarah Graham and “Granny Margaret” of Aydan and Emerson.

Much loved partner of Wayne Bahry. Predeceased by her loving partner, Ivor Dolan, Margaret will be fondly remembered by his son, Bruce.

The last surviving child of the late Walter and Florence (nee Wilson) Strong, Margaret was also predeceased by her brother, William Strong (Jean) as well as her 2 sisters: Mabel Graham (late Barry) and Amy Coady (late Tom).

A lifelong resident of the West Carleton area, Margaret was well known for her outgoing and magnetic personality.

She enjoyed community events, spending time with family and friends and she was never known to shy away from a friendly game of Euchre.

Margaret was an accomplished organist and has played for countless services, funerals and weddings alike.

She will be remembered for the kindness she showed to those around her.

Family and friends were invited to a Funeral Service conducted in St. Paul’s United Church, Carp on Saturday morning, August 3rd at 11 o’clock.

A reception followed in the St. James Anglican Church Hall (next door).

Interment St. Paul’s United Cemetery, Carp.
