Obituary of Suzanne "Sue" McGee

With heavy hearts the family announces that Sue passed away peacefully at Hospice Renfrew on Tuesday evening, August 20, 2024. She was 74.
Beloved wife of the late Patrick McGee (2022).
Loving Mom and Step-Mom of Colleen Larose (Peter) of Eganville, Maureen McGee (MJ McHale) of Douglas, Tracee Dillabough (Mike) of Eganville and Nancy Leece (Robert) of Victoria, B.C.
Proud Grandmother to Ryan, Jessica (Pat), Tanner (Natalie), Alex, Joey, Katie, Jack and Tristan. Adoring Great-Grandmother of Reggie.
Will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law Elaine and nieces Sarah and Amy (Graig) and great nieces Grace and Avery.
Survived by brother Don and predeceased by parents Hugh and Ada MacLean.
Sue travelled to many different countries during her career with Foreign Affairs Canada. It was there that she met her future husband Patrick and together they opened Patrick R. McGee Sales, a successful office furniture business in Ottawa. Upon retirement, they spent their winters in Florida and summers on Otty Lake in Perth and recently on Mink Lake in Eganville.
Throughout her life, Sue enjoyed gardening, golf, reading, board games and was an avid card player.
Sue will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle soul who was incredibly patient and a great listener.
Sue often expressed gratitude for a life filled with many wonderful memories and varied experiences.
The family would like to thank the Doctors at the Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre as well as the dedicated team at Hospice Renfrew for their kindness and compassion during Sue’s final weeks. You truly were a blessing to us all.
Sue’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 9:45 to 10:45. A Service to honour and remember Sue will then take place in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock. A reception will follow. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens, Nepean.
