Obituary of Justen Bekker - Yackobeck

It is with heavy and broken hearts that the family announces that Justen passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on the evening of September 26, 2024. He was 32.

Beloved son of June Bekker of Arnprior.

Dearly loved brother of Toni Yackobeck (Alan Gould) of Gander, Newfoundland.

Justen was predeceased by his stepdad Vaughn Bullock (2019).

He will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Justen is remembered as a vibrant, caring young man. He had a love for music, often filling the air with songs and melodies that reflected his mood. His laughter, infectious and genuine, could brighten even the dullest days, and helped make everyone around him feel included. Connection was very important to Justen, and he made time for that in every interaction he had.

He was thoughtful and gentle, and genuinely cared for helping others. With a heart deeply in tune with nature, he found peace and joy in the sprouting of new plants and the gentle lapping of waves, reminding us all of life’s simple pleasures. He had a passion for exploration and a deep curiosity for learning.

Justen’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd.,

50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on

Wednesday evening, October 2, from 5:30 - 6:45.

A Twilight Tribute to honour Justen will take place in the

Pilon Family Chapel on Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock.

The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend.

If you would like to leave a donation in Justen’s memory, please consider the Nature Conservancy of Canada or the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
