Obituary of Art Smith

SMITH, Art

“Smitty”

With sadness, the family announces that Art passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial on Sunday morning, September 29, 2024. Arthur Alliston Smith of Arnprior was 83 years of age.

Beloved husband for over 59 years of Sheila (nee Dellaire).

Much loved Dad of Tracy Smith (late Shane) and Terry Smith (Emily).

Cherished and forever loved and remembered by his grandchildren: Tasha Bates (Brad Cammack), Jessica Bates (Alex Ohlman), D’Nysha Smith (John  Campbell) and Darren Smith as well as his great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Parker, Addalyn, Gavin, Dalen, Emmett, Brandtley, Sierra, Jase, Ilah, Sophia and Delaney.

Art loved life.

He would do anything for anyone who needed a hand.

His willingness to become an integral part of the Arnprior community was felt by all. He always gave his best to those he loved and things he believed in. His unwavering dedication to the Arnprior Lions Club is a legacy that will live on forever. From Canada Day Car Shows to the White Pines Festival and every other community event in between, Art was proud to be involved.

His time with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires was a beautiful and fitting way for Art to end his working career as he provided security services to his many friends at the RCMP.

A tireless volunteer has gone to rest.

Art will be missed by the many who had the privilege to call him “friend”.

Art’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.
