Obituary of Joan Kobus

(nee Smith)

Peacefully, with family by her side at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior on Sunday morning, November 17, 2024, Joan passed away at the age of 85.

Beloved wife of the late Robert.

Loved mom of Kim Engelbertink (Ray) and Rick Kobus (late Donna Reid).

Special grandma of Christine and Michael and great grandma of Addie.

Dear sister of John Smith (Aline) and Marion Clemow.

Predeceased by father and mother Bud & Edith Smith, brothers Donald and Rick Smith.

Will be greatly missed by sister-in-laws Arlene & Carolyn Smith.

She will be missed by her nieces and nephews.

Joan spent many years proudly working in the House of Commons for the Government of Canada. At home, could often be found in the kitchen where her passion for cooking would come to life. She was also keen on staying active throughout her life, taking on various sports like skiing, tennis and golf.

She will be missed.

Joan’s private arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.

Burial for Joan will be int the Castleford Cemetery in the Spring of 2025 with a celebration of life following, date to be determined.
