As we gather to say goodbye to Grandpa, I can't help but remember the meaningful memories that defined our time together. I think of biking to the train tracks with him at Pinewood Park, usually a crew of us asking him to take us. I remember skating (or being pushed) along the Rideau Canal.
There were countless mornings in elementary school, when I’d pretend to be sick, just to be spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa. They’d always play along. I loved waking him up at the crack of dawn during the summer at Pinewood for our second breakfast—Map-o-spread on toast, and the way he’d dip his buttered toast into his coffee, a little ritual that still reminds me of him. I cherish all of his many stories about his career, hockey and skiing.
These cherished memories will live in my heart forever. I love you, Grandpa.

Paul and I were part of the Canadian Ski Patrol in Espanola in the mid 60,s. I visited Paul at the university of Ottawa in the early 70’s. Paul was a super guy, always willing to help. Everytime we met he always seemed to be smiling and happy, and interested in what you were doing! I respected Paul tremendously.

Uncle Paul was always a favourite, positive, vibrant and full of energy. He embraced life, loved his family and was great at so many things whether it was some sort of construction project or continuing to play sports. Uncle Paul seemed to excel at so many things. He was an inspiration.
It was most certainly a life well lived. Nothing but fond memories. He will be missed.
