Dear Susan, Trevor and Family,
My wife Kathy and I were absolutely heartbroken when we heard the news of Wendy's sudden death during the Christmas holidays. We offer all of you our deepest condolences. I had the wonderful privilege of having Wendy in my life for the eighteen years that I was the Parish Priest at St. John's Anglican Church in Richmond. I have many fond memories of Wendy. Not only did Wendy hear almost every single Sunday reflection that I ever preached at St. John's, she also held the rare distinction of not choosing to sit at the back of the church, instead sitting in the third row (or maybe fourth) from the front. When Wendy was on altar duty we would often have a brief conversation following the Sunday service. Whatever congregational decisions or changes to the Sunday worship I made, I had a solid ally in Wendy - always supportive and affirming. I don't think that she could have ever imagined how helpful and important that was for me. For one thing, it permitted me to be me. Our conversations always included a debriefing - a checking in on each other's children and in Wendy's case included the sharing of the profound love that she had for her grandchildren. But perhaps one of the strongest and warmest memories that I have of Wendy is when she volunteered for the Thursday Day Hospice Program that was held in the Parish Hall. The program ran for I believe seven unbelievable years. Wendy took the extensive course that was required to volunteer and in no time at all found her "niche". Ever quiet and unassuming, she would arrive at the hall just before the end of lunch. She would prepare the tea and coffee cart and without fanfare would go around the lunch table asking both volunteers and "guests" what they would like to drink and then serve them while in conversation, always adding a personal touch. Everyone without exception loved Wendy and she in her soft spoken, gentle and positive demeanor loved them in return. There's an old Christian Gospel song whose first line is: "It only takes a spark to get a fire going, that's how it is with God's love". Wendy was / is that spark! Thanks Wendy...for everything! Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear Wendy's passing over the Holliday seasons
Our sincere condolence to you all
Being her physiotherapist, It was a pleasure to see her. She was always motivated to do her exercises and to do her best to get better to be able to return to the Gym ASAP.
Through her visits, she often spoke to me about you all, her family and was always very proud of you and the grand children's accomplishments. She also loved reading and we often exchanged book titles.
I will miss seeing her and my heart goes to you all
