Obituary of Rita Raj

With great sadness, the family announces that Rita passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital while surrounded by love and family on Friday evening, January 10, 2025.

 Rita Joy Raj of Kinburn was 88 years of age.

Beloved wife of Ganesh.

Dearly loved mother of Eileen Jackson (David), Angela Young (David), Sharon Swaine and Ganesh Raj Jr. (Dianne Lynch).

Proud grandmother of Jake (Jessie), Tayler,  Alexandra (Jesse), Cole (Jessica) and Kelly (Walid) and Great-Grandmother of Jackson, Johnny, Foster, Watson, George, Leo and Leena.

Dear sister of Douglas Teixeira (late Erma).

Predeceased by her only brother, Desmond as well as 3 sisters: Sheila Gonsalves, Winnifred “Bunny” Kailan and Yvonne Trott.

 Rita and Ganesh immigrated to Canada from Guyana in 1965. They settled on a farm in rural Kinburn where they raised their family.

She will be long remembered and cherished by those who knew her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zadow, Dr. Becker, the nurses and all staff of the inpatient unit at the Arnprior Hospital for providing such great care to Rita in her final days. 

Rita’s final care is in the trusted hands of the Pilon Family in Arnprior.
