I did not know Alfonso well. What I remember most is his laughing and good spirits -- a special joy of life. I was a potter for over eighteen years, and I know the satisfaction that can come from working to prep raw materials then cast them into an aesthetic expression. The blend of the hard work of handling the materials then making art is a gift that Alfonso clearly loved. I wish his family and friends to know that I am sad at this passing, but know he is at peace. My condolences to you all.
