I met Bruce in 2003 when he was manager of the Titan midget team and his late son Ryan was a Pembroke Lumber King prospect. It was easy to see his passions were his family, hockey and work. When Ryan passed so tragically I asked if he’d like to get involved at the executive level. I was taken by his amazing grace and humility. He loved the game. For years he served in any role needed without ego or apprehension. He had so many health challenges but was always so positive and such a fighter that it seemed he’d always bounce back. We discussed a bigger role this year and he decided to take a break to get his health back and spend time with his family which he loved even more than hockey. I’m proud to call him my friend. My very sincere and loving condolences to the amazing Myrtle Baskin who has dealt with so much so gracefully and with such faith. God bless the entire family.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you Myrtle, Tara and Megan plus Bruce’s siblings and their significant others. To say the least Bruce was the toughest person I have and most likely will ever meet in my life. Through all of his hardships where most would have given up he continued to be positive and strong willed. We shared many good laugh, a few maybe not so clean jokes along with some sad moments thrown in there. I will never forget his crazy grin, his off the cuff humour nor his friendly demeanour. He was a unique a unique individual who touched so many in a positive way and was always there to help a friend.
Bruce great guy who was an inspiration to so many in the persistence he shared for living life to its fullest despite the set backs it through his way.
