I would like to extend my deep condolences to Saundra's family. I'm not sure I could have navigated the jungle of High School without Saundra. She has been and always will be an inspiration for me. Every time I question something or read poetry, I know her teaching is behind the question in my mind and the ability to work at a line of poetry until understanding dawns. I like to think that Saundra and Paul are striding hand in hand, into a great, new adventure.

My sincere condolences to the family. I was a neighbour at Flat Rapids and belonged to the same Book Club as Saundra. We all loved her and enjoyed her company so much. She was always so joyful and gracious and had the most beautiful laugh. We loved her stories of growing up. Her perspective and insights were so wise and reflected her compassion, caring and forward thinking. It was such a privilege to know her. She spoke so lovingly and proudly of her daughters. How blessed you are to have such an exceptional mother.

I will always remember Saundra at the front of her classroom after school holding rehearsals for the upcoming school play. Always impeccably dressed, guiding us on our lines, encouraging, directing and bringing out the best of us all. Her work ethic, kindness and humour provided life long lessons. I also remember Paul Glynn giving us his ‘pep’ talks just prior to a play going on stage and Saundra standing in the background. Life long memories and lessons, Saundra was so influential, a class act. My condolences, Tully Bascom.
