Father Lunney had "recruited" me back in 1963 to go to St.Pius X (a decision I have never regretted) to which I attended for a memorable five years, unbeknownst to me he had already been acquainted with our family before his entry into the priesthood. He was an inspiring person to be around with right up to our last meeting in 2018 at the 60th St Pius X reunion. We will miss you Monsignor. Rest in peace!

I have fond memories of Father Lunney. As a young man I asked him to teach me about the Catholic faith so I could become a member of the church. He was assigned to St. Pius X High School in Ottawa at the time and also assisted with masses at St. George in my community. Because of his efforts I have been a devout Catholic since December, 1963, when I was baptized. Rest in peace Monsignor Lunney. You have made the world a better place.

I came to Monsignor Lunney in 2000 at Divine Infant Parish. He welcomed me with open arms into the choir there under Michael de la Croix. We all wanted that he would preside at mass, and we hung on his every word in the Homily. Thank you Father Len, for such a loving reference letter, which opened the doors of God's Grace for me and my family. You will be missed, blessed servant of God. When the crab apple blossoms are in bloom, we will think of you. Jennifer Wojcik, Joshua and Jeremy.

A fine teacher (latin) and Principal at St. Pius X. A razor sharp wit. And a good man. Rest in Peace, Monsignor.

Monsignor Lunney was one of the best people I have ever known: kind, compassionate, loyal, intelligent, funny, true to his beliefs and values. I am proud to say he was my friend. As a member of of his St. Pius X "Staff/Family", he inspired me and many others to be a better person. I can only smile as I recall the great fun we enjoyed together. He will be missed by so many, but he has left his mark on our spirit and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Until we meet again... May he Rest in Peace.

Msgr. Len was my boss, my coffee morning partner, my prayer warrior and counselor, my substitute dad and trusted advisor and friend. From playing and singing Danny boy on my piano or taking a ride in your model A, to reading Stephen Leacock’s “Hoodoo McFiggan’s Christmas” at our family Christmas gathering (and had us all in stitches!), you will be greatly missed. May God bless you my dear friend and may you now journey with the angels.

Another dear, old friend gone. Father Len baptized our son & would drop in to play the piano. You were such a dear friend. You have earned your rest.
