Obituary of Rita Moran

With great sadness we announce the passing of our family’s Matriarch, Rita Mary Margaret Moran of Arnprior. Mom passed away at the Forest Hill Nursing Home in Kanata with loved ones by her side on Saturday evening, December 7, 2019. She was in her 100^th year. Beloved wife of the late Edward Moran. Dearly loved mother of Pat MacPherson (Neil) of Kingston; Colleen Moran of Toronto; Grier Moran of The Philippines and Jack Moran (Sheila) of Barrhaven. Cherished and proud “Nanny” of 4 grandchildren: Jeff MacPherson (Beth), Shane MacPherson (Pam), Stephanie Moran and Sean Moran (Brad Jenne) as well as 2 great-grandchildren: Sarah and Ben MacPherson. Predeceased by her parents, James and Isabel Corkery as well as her 2 brothers: Thomas “Tom” Corkery (late Gwen) and Sylvester Corkery. Mom will be remembered as a salesperson at the Beamish Store on John Street as well as later working in the Contempra Jewellery Store in The Arnprior Mall and finally as librarian at the Arnprior Public Library. Mom’s warmth and kindness will be missed by the many who knew her. Rita’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation took place on Wednesday evening, December 11^th from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning, December 12^th from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in her beloved St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery. In memory, please consider a donation to the St. John Chrysostom Church Memorial Fund. Members of the Catholic Women's League met at the funeral home for prayers on Wednesday evenign at 6:30.
