Obituary of Jake Dowd

November 24, 1986 – December 9, 2019

We are profoundly sad to announce that our beautiful son Jake passed away on Monday, December 9^th, 2019. Deeply cherished by his brother Kyle and adored by his sister-in-law Kerstin, Jake will forever be missed and lovingly remembered by his parents Jane and Stephen. Jake faced many incredible challenges with inspirational strength, courage, and determination. He brought a smile to everyone he met from the moment he introduced himself with “Hi, I’m Jake! What’s your name? Do you have any pets at home?” Amazingly, he always remembered everyone he met much later, and more importantly, what kind of pets they had as well. Our family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated Physicians and Nurses of the ARH Emergency Room, the ORNGE Ambulance Service, and the Queensway Carleton ICU. Most importantly, we want to thank the people of Arnprior, for every day having made Jake’s life a little easier, and full of fun.

Please join us in a Celebration of Jake’s Life on Saturday December 21^st at the Nick Smith Centre in Arnprior from 2 to 5pm. Words of Remembrance and a toast to Jake took place at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Grove Redevelopment Fund with the Arnprior Regional Hospital Foundation.
