Obituary of John "Jack" Swaine

With heavy hearts we announce that our Dad and Poppa, Jack Swaine of White Lake passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Friday morning, December 13th, 2019 following a brief illness. He was 88. He has finally been reunited with his beloved wife, our Mom, Doris (nee Desjardins) who predeceased him September 24, 1997. Dearly loved and remembered Dad of Terry (Cathy Wilson), David (Jane), JoAnne McLean (Greg Love), Wendy Sharpe, Brent (Nancy Rosien) and Murray (Diane). Cherished and proud Poppa of 12 grandchildren: Chris Swaine, James Swaine (Emilie), Andrew Sharpe (Melissa), Matt Sharpe (Colin), Briane Clermont (Eric), Curtis McLean, Kelly Swaine (Walid), Ross Love (Helena), Melissa Burns (Riley), Erin Nesbitt, Darcy Wilson and Justin (Meggan) Wilson as well as 7 great-grandchildren: Ariel Swaine, Evan and Logan Sharpe, Riley, Kaitlin, Dominic, Celeste Wilson and Ryder. Predeceased by a grandson, Chris Walsh. Dear brother of Elizabeth Foster, Norma Dobson and Florence Bond. The last surviving son of the late Walter and Mary (nee Spears) Swaine of Canso, Nova Scotia, Jack was also predeceased by siblings: Clarence, Doug, Ross, Evelyn, Margaret “Peg”, Frances, Mabel, Julia and James. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Jack’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation took place on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 10 to 10:45 a.m. A Tribute to Jack followed in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior at a later date. In memory, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army. A Legion Tribute took place at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
