Obituary of Larry Calnan

With sadness, the Calnan family announces that Larry passed at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2021 following a brief illness; Lawrence Stuart Calnan recently of the Island View Suites but formerly of Richmond, Ontario was 91. Beloved husband of Norma (nee Stephens). Dearly loved “Dad” of Michael of Arnprior; Tim (Lynn Neville) of Ottawa and Stephen of Arnprior. Cherished and proud “Grandpa” of Jamie Sexsmith-Calnan. Dear father-in-law of Samantha Sexsmith of Almonte. Larry was the last surviving child of the late Tom and Helen (nee Delanty) Calnan. Predeceased by brothers: Edward (WW II), Chris, John and Robert “Bob” Calnan as well as his only sister, Marie Wells. Larry enjoyed a long career with the OPP. His work brought he and his family to many wonderful communities throughout Ontario. Following retirement from the Renfrew Detachment, Larry and Norma moved to Richmond, Ontario. Last year’s final move brought the couple to Arnprior to be closer to their boys. Larry’s final care and arrangements were entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where a private family visitation and service took place on Monday, January 18th. Interment will follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens in Kingston (Glenburnie).
