I got to know my Uncle Evans in 1980 when I visited the family in Braeside with my son Gary.
Uncle Evans left Barbados for England in 1955 when I was two years old. He was my mother, Cassie’s, big brother, who we all admired. He always sent her a money order for Christmas when he was in England, and also when he immigrated to Canada. When he and his family visited Barbados, he visited his siblings’ families, and we met our cousins, Ian, Greg and Leslie.
My visits to Uncle and Aunt Daph’s home were very pleasant, fun, and exploratory and they always took us to see different places. I will miss him and our conversations.
To my Aunt Daph, my cousins and extended family, our sincere condolences.
Heather, Ed and Gary.

Mr. Skinner’s (Urch as he was called in our homes) passing is sobering news for me. I will always hold fond memories of his teasing and inquisition, all meant for our growth. We have shared many happy family experiences as we closed the gap between Arnprior and Toronto. As we say goodbye, let us hold those fond memories close. May he rest in peace, and may you Mrs. Skinner, Ian, Gregory and Leslie find peace also. Much love, Deborah (Debbie) Smith.

Evans Skinner was a family friend to my mother and father. He was a really nice guy that loved the outdoors; especially hiking around his home in Braeside, snowmobiling and golfing. I remember he took me and my brothers fishing a couple times on the River near the house. Evans will be missed. I hope and pray for the family for their tremendous loss. Praise to Ian Gregory and Leslie. Peace.

Ian, Greg, Les & Mrs. Skinner, I am so sorry to hear the news. I considered your dad/husband to be a great neighbour, teacher and friend. I will always remember the times he spent with us making the tree house in your back yard, throwing a football around and teaching math to us when the school was closed. Most of all I will remember his warm smile and laugh. My condolences to you all.
