Obituary of Evans Skinner

(Retired Teacher – ADHS) With heavy hearts the family announces that their patriarch passed away at The New Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior on Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021; Evans Iriston Skinner, a longtime resident of Arnprior was 91. Beloved husband for over 59 years of Daphne (nee King). Dearly loved father and mentor of Ian (Stephanie Barrow) of Orléans; Gregory of Santa Ana, California; Leslie (Laurie Young) of Aylmer, QC and Maureen Gooding (Ivor) of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Cherished and proud “Dah” of Alexi, Christina, Chantel and Cory. Dear brother of Jeffrey Skinner (Ingrid) of Regina, Saskatchewan and Itha Greaves (Percy) of Barbados. Evans Skinner was a man of impeccable character and determination. He was committed to education and continued teaching after his retirement from Arnprior District High School as he believed that it was through strong education that one could excel. An avid golfer, he enjoyed the outdoors immensely also engaging in cycling, sailing and long walks. His curious nature was supported through reading and engaging with all people on world affairs, politics and especially on anything pertaining to his birthplace of Barbados. Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A Family Service in Memory of Evans will be webcast live from the Pilon Family Chapel on Tuesday evening, November 30th at 7 p.m. Private interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior.
