Obituary of Edith Weiler

7 February 1936 – 24 December 2021 With heavy hearts we, Heinz Weiler, Renee Stewart (Mike), Andy Stewart (Rebecca) and Jason Stewart have to announce the death of my dear wife Edith Weiler. She came to Canada in 1955 and met Heinz in 1956 at the Harmony gym club in Toronto. She loved all sports and in 1962 she was a member of the National Gymnastics Team. But no matter the sport, she excelled, be it cross country skiing, baseball, bowling, running or curling. But ballroom dancing was her favourite. Besides sports, she volunteered in many capacities. With Heinz being a member of the military, she travelled far and wide. After Heinz retired, she travelled all over the Caribbean, but she especially loved Cuba. She was married to Heinz for 64 years and had two children: Renee and the late Harry, and was also predeceased by her beloved granddaughter: Caitlin Stewart. Lately she had dementia and extreme arthritis. Her constant pain was hard to witness, and her passing was a blessing for her. Edith’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.
