Obituary of Marvin Pressman

Marvin Pressman, age 68 of Arnprior, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, December 30, 2021 after a short battle with liver cancer. Marvin was born on May 16, 1953 to Joseph “Joe” Pressman & Goldie Pressman (née Budovitch) in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Marvin grew up in the Maritimes with his brother Allan Pressman & his sister Rosalind “Rozzie” Albert (née Pressman). In 1968, the family doctor recommended a move to a warmer climate to help address Goldie’s heart problems. Joe and Goldie moved with Rozzie and Marvin to Hollywood, Florida where Marvin would attend high school. In 1971 Marvin was saved & began a lifelong relationship with Jesus that would inevitably be the catalyst for meeting lifelong friends, enduring faith and the love of his life, his late wife Joan. After the passing of his beloved wife, Joan, Marvin moved back to Canada in 2012 to rejoin his Canadian family. In 2015, Marvin founded the Shekinah Messianic Congregation in Ottawa. Being a Rabbi was the greatest joy of Marvin’s life. Marvin will be remembered for his quiet warmth, his unique sense of humour & unshakeable love for Yeshua. Marvin was predeceased by his parents Joe & Goldie, his sister Rozzie and his wife Joan. He is survived by his brother Allan, nephew Jody Pressman (Joyce) & great-nephew Dylan, his niece Amy Pressman (Alex) & great-niece Sophie of Ottawa, Ontario, as well as his brother in law Larry Albert, nephews Jared & Grant Albert of Miami, Florida, his Aunt Yetta of Yonkers, New York, and his cousins Lyle Pressman of New York & Lou Pressman of Pennsylvania. Special thanks to Marvin’s West Ottawa Community Church family for making Marvin's last days on this earth as comfortable as possible, in particular Elizabeth and Stan, Pastor Chuck and Valerie, David, Michio and Lydia for the support, guidance, help and especially the love and grace you extended to our beloved Marvin. Marvin’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.
