Dear Jane, Aynne, and Doug We were saddened to learn of Don’s passing. Please know that we, the members of Arnprior Curling Club fondly remember Don for his generosity, and active support of all things Curling, We enjoyed seeing him at our celebrations and bonspiels or when he just dropped by to talk and watch the game. His leadership was much appreciated as he was President from 1972 until1973 and was part the founding directors that worked tirelessly to build the Curling Club on Galvin Street. His ongoing support of the Vy Johnston Ladies Bonspiel through the years has help promote women’s curling at our club. I worked for Don in his insurance office in Barry's Bay. As we were on his route to his hunting camp he always stopped in to say hello in later years. Always a pleasure to see him. Jinx, this makes me laugh! Yes, stay clear of those chats!! Ottawa Street was a magical neighbourhood for us all, with a strong community, leaving us all with rich memories. I often felt I was raised also by your parents, Sullivans, Nugents... "the street".

My first thought when I saw Dons photo was how much he looked like his dad, uncle Christie. Sincere sympathy on the loss of Don. When my Mom and Don met they would say ‘they went to school together’. Even into their 80s!! Friendships like that are treasured even to the next generation.
