REMEMBERING BUD LINDSAY
Our beloved brother Bud Lindsay of Arnprior, Ottawa, has been called home to the everlasting arms of the Lord. He is forever safe and reunited with the family in Heaven. We send our heartfelt condolences to his dear wife, Margaret, and their family.
Bud was really a pioneer and forerunner in so many ways. I first met Bud during the early days of my first trips with Pastor Bob, even before Watchmen was formed, when we had meetings in Arnprior. Even then, he was ahead of his time always envisioning what was best for Canada and was willing to walk in the vision. I recall even in those days, Bud was always talking about the kingdom of God, when not everyone was kingdom-focused yet. He served the Lord wholeheartedly and together with his dear wife Margaret they were both instrumental and influential in blessing the Kingdom family.
Ruth and I treasure our many rich and fond memories with Bud and his dear wife, Margaret. They opened their heart and home to us, with warmth and generosity, blessing our family with the use of their cottage during the summer, giving time and energy to come alongside us in this family journey with the Lord. We will miss Bud very much. May the comfort and strength of the Lord be with Margaret and their sons Mark and David and the rest of the family.

Well Buddy, you sure know how to make a grand entrance into God’s kingdom!
The send-off was so you. Lots of humour, some sad moments, but most definitely a tremendous tribute to you and your faith.
The Church was full of people who loved you, respected you or were there to show their support for your family.
That was very clear from the start. Each speaker spoke highly of you. You lived a long life, and even though you battled health issues over the years, God wasn’t quite finished with you. He no doubt was preparing a special place for you!
I will miss you, yet I know you’ll be watching over us. Keep Billy company until I get back in the spring. I promise to visit you both!
Love Lise

Our deepest condolences to you Margaret, Dave and Jen, Patrick, Katherine, Ryan, Mark, Kate and the entire Lindsay clan.
All of the memories going back many many years came flooding back after recovering from the shock of hearing that Bud was gone... he had so many close calls in recent years but he always bounced back and was up and about with what seemed to be boundless energy and drive.
My earliest memories are of him, Betty and Harold teaching Sunday School class to a bunch of busy kids at the church in White Lake, a long time ago.
I am thankful for all the time we had with him over the past few years clearing the fallen trees from several storms. He had a passion for that old "bombie" and he drove it like he was still a teenager... a terrifying experience if you happen to be a passenger... The stories, advice and adventures with him over the past decades and more than enough to last several lifetimes. He will be sorely missed but we know one great day we will seem him again.
Much love,
Rob, Lisa, Alex and Calli

Dearest Margaret, Mark, David & Families, Betty and Donald and all family…
Our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathies to you all… Buddy was a very special and amazing man. He was the next best “dad” to me while we lived in White Lake and years after. He taught me more about God than any other person had. He took time out of his busy schedule to always make me feel valued and loved. He had a special way of teaching about concepts in the Bible that brought everyday experiences and examples to the heart..He was one of the most beautiful humans God ever created! It saddens us to know he is no longer here… But I know that I know that I know where he is…safe in the arms of Jesus!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

Margaret, Mark, David and families,
Joan and I were saddened to hear of Bud’s passing. Not unexpected but always traumatizing. We have some fond memories of our years on that ‘crooked little pathway’ known as Lindsay Lane. We always had meaningful and sometimes DEEP conversations with Bud and other families on the Lane. Also, the constant banter amongst Harold, Buck, Walter and Ingy at the Shop was forever memorable. Bud was deep in his faith and shared it easily. He had a lifetime of history of times on White Lake and I would say he should be remembered as ‘THE PATRIARCH of WHITE LAKE. He will be missed.
Condolences and LOVE.

Uncle Buddy will be truly missed. This is Bruce Lindsay.
Spending time in White Lake as a child, Uncle Buddy would always give me a silver dollar, to which I would spend at the snack bar. We had wonderful conversations. After growing up and becoming a Father myself, Uncle Buddy would make sure we had a place to stay in White Lake, a beautiful cottage. Our children and grandchildren enjoy staying in White Lake and carrying on the family tradition every year at Bayview Lodge. Thank you for everything Uncle Buddy. Love, Bruce and Jannette

White Lake is now missing one of its signature characters. I am grateful to have known him. He was my friend’s dad, and my dad’s friend. He was a spiritual father to my father even though some 13 years younger because Bud came to know Jesus before Dad did and had a big role in bringing him to faith. So, a spiritual grandfather to me. Always full of spark, fun and purpose and shrewd business dealings. Our families had a friendly rivalry over the years. The Lindsays had Bayview and we had Pickerel Bay. They ran with Mercurys and Fords while we stuck with OMC outboards and GM vehicles. I was glad to visit with Bud and Margaret a little over the last couple of summers. He told me many things about White Lake Past. I wish I’d kept notes. And always the main focus was Jesus. Thanks, Bud, for all the wisdom and encouragement. Blessings to Margaret, David and Jennifer and the boys, Mark and Kate and Bud’s many friends and relations.

I met Bud about 5 years ago. He would bring fresh pickerel to every hospital visit and when I declined he insisted on introducing me to White Lake and teaching me to fish. My life changed paths forever. I can’t begin to describe the impact he has had on me- we shared a lot a laughs, life-lessons and stories (some of them too crazy to be true). “I think the Doc needs another fishing lesson”, Bud would yell out from his porch every time I came up empty handed after fishing all evening. Above all, he restored my faith when I needed it most. I will miss you dearly Bud, but there’s a little piece of you that lives on in my heart. You were a true legend. I will think of you every time the sun sets at the top of the pines on White Lake because that’s when the pickerel bite most. Prasad ‘PJ’ Jetty

Buddy gave me my first job at Bayview Lodge as landscape maintenence, I.e.grass cutter, at 14 years of age. I was then promoted to garbage collector over the next few years and thoroughly enjoyed driving whatever machine he gave me for the task at hand..I have many fond memories of Bud and Margaret always willing to chat whether it was at their dock or in Buddy's garage fixing snowmobiles. Also the memories of his hour jobs which turned out to be at least half a day if not more. I enjoyed his company and our many times together just talking and visiting. He was the luckiest fisherman around. He was always willing to help and a kind and loyal friend. We had a lot of fun together.

Margaret and family, I am so sorry for your loss. He is with the father. I know my father will be right there waiting to greet him.
He will be dearly missed. He left an amazing legacy. He was always there for you, he always helped people and imparted great wisdom . He was a spiritual father to many, including Marc and I.
I will miss all of the stories Mr. White Lake told us. Will miss his bantering with my husband. Lol. I will miss his wisdom and how to live by faith and for the Lord.
I feel very honoured to have known him and to have been given guidance from him.
I will remember Bud and Margaret coming on our pontoon for rides. As we cruised past all of the houses and the places on White Lake, he told us the stories of how he grew up there and of all the people and happenings of the past. It was so interesting and informative.
I will always remember how he embraced my father after my mother passed away. It started on one of his Wednesday Mens fellowship evenings. I drove my dad there and he was very reluctant. Bud greeted him with open arms. Bud helped him a lot in his journey with the Lord. My father never missed a Wednesday night men’s fellowship. He went every Wednesday up until he passed away 2 years ago. Bud opened up his house for men’s fellowship, then proceeded by Gordy, he gave my father something he always wanted in his life— A group of friends that accepted him for who he was and gave him christian guidance, support, and fellowship. They had lots of fun and laughs too.
Bud you will be greatly missed but we know we will see him again and what a reunion that will be!!
