Lynne and I would like to express our condolences to the Eastop family on the passing of their beautiful daughter Samantha. We first met Sam at the transplant games in 2008, she like all of the other children that participated was full of life and thoroughly enjoyed the time together with the other transplant kids. Her love of life came through in the pictures that I added to this post. She will be greatly missed.

Sam had an incredible spirit and infectious smile. I often look back on our younger years fondly. I'll never forget our sleepovers, talks about boys, and walks around the neighborhood. Almost 14 years ago my son Matthew Topping and I met Sam and her family waiting anxiously for the bus to take our kids to transplant camp. All these years later Matt and Sam stayed in contact, as well as Sam and my other children. From that first day we met her, we would find a great spirit who met every challenge with great courage and strength. Our hearts are so very broken at the loss this world is feeling. Sam was a true inspiration, showed courage in the face of fear and has left us with her infectious smile. It has been an honour and absolute pleasure to have had Sam as a part of our family. She will live on in all the lives of those who had the opportunity to be in her presence. The sky has become a little bit brighter when we look up and she her star shining bright. Sam you are so deeply loved and are so very missed. Thank you for being such an inspiration to us all and thank you for being you. Matthew and I will never forget you.

Sam and I became friends early on in life and we became good friends, Sam had the best sense of humour and would make light of any situation. I've never met Sam but knew her mother from high school, and through her I got to know Sam and the family.
