Obituary of Samantha "Sam" Eastop

With heavy hearts the family announces that Samantha passed away due to sudden heart complications, surrounded by family at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute on Sunday, January 15, 2023. She was 27.

Tremendously missed by her parents, Carol (nee Gourgon), and Clint; her brother, Austin, and her sister Morgan; grandparents, Jean & John Cloutier, Brian & Donna Eastop. Niece of Uncle Leo, Aunt Jenifer, Ginny, Ginette, and Doris.

Fondly remembered by her many cousins and friends.

As a double heart transplant recipient, Samantha was a fighter, and we are thankful for the years we had with her. She loved playing Double “A” Softball with the pirates. She competed in the Canadian and the World transplant games, where she won many medals and broke the record for ball throw in Australia. Sam was an organ transplant advocate. She loved life, people, her dog Molly, and everyone loved her in return. Her favorite saying when out driving was,

“I never get lost – I go on an adventure!”

We will miss her fighting spirit and her tender concern for others. Though she’s gone on a different adventure now, she left us a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Samantha’s care has been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Spirit Church, 1489 Shea Road, Stittsville on Saturday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. The family was in attendance to receive condolences starting at 10 a.m.

A reception took place following Mass.
