He was one of the best teachers at ADHS while I attended school there during the 70s. Knowing that I was from Pakenham, he would draw a map of the village on the blackboard and then proceed to base an entire class on the houses and businesses there .... pointing out 'MacFarlane's bank' (not really .... my Dad only worked at the RBC branch) amongst other things. The next week it would be Braeside, and then the week after, White Lake, then Kinburn, then Fitzroy Harbour. He knew how to engage his students and they thought the world of him. Reposez en paix, Monsieur Dodge.

Condolence to Mr Dodge's family and friends. Mr Dodge and he was always Mr Dodge when ever I would meet him in later years and have a short chat. Mr Dodge and his cousin Clem Kelly were sophisticated men who tolerated us small town bubbas with humour. My fondest memory was in Grade 12, near the end of the year after exams, he asked me if I was going on to University and I said no more likely technical college. I received a French mark of 51%. Thank you Mr Dodge always considerate.

Mr. Dodge - a wonderful person and a great teacher. He made French class fun and he had such a great sense of humour. He laughed, we laughed - some of his expressions stick with me from 40 years ago! I recall fondly his rapid fire approach to class discussions - fingers snapping - good memories. Thank you. Russ G., ADHS ‘87

My condolences to the Dodge family. Mr. Dodge was my French teacher at ADHS in the early 70's. I remember his infectious laughter and his wish for all of us to enjoy the language he loved so much. He happily shared his travels with us and encouraged us to attend his French club where we would speak in a more relaxed atmosphere in his Kinsmen Crescent home. Rest in peace Mr. Dodge..

I worked in the office at ADHS for many years when Ken was the French Department Head.
He was such a generous, kind, gentle soul and will be sadly missed.
I have many wonderful memories of Ken, especially all those dinners at Galilee with him, Lynne and I where many conversations and much reminiscing was done.
Rest In Peace dear friend.

Not many people can have a great an effect on life
but Ken Dodge was one who could. His “family of students” covered many years as he helped shape young lives and minds to admire the arts especially his favourite language, French. His radiant personality and integrity will not be forgotten. Sympathy to his family and friends. Peter Stanton ADHS 1973.

Even though I haven't seen Mr. Dodge (I could never call him Ken, even after high school) in many years, his name came up many times when sharing fond memories with friends about our years at ADHS. As I look at his photo on this page, it makes me smile thinking back to how he was always smiling and sharing a contagious upbeat attitude with students and staff. My heart goes out to his family at this time, and I consider myself lucky to have met this gentle soul and have him share his knowledge and time with so many Arnprior DHS students. We are all better for knowing him. Au revoir, Monsieur Dodge.

I had many outstanding teachers when I was a student at ADHS, including my own sister. However, there was something about one bright, funny, engaging, caring teacher that sparked in me a passion for French that endures to this day. I have been teaching French for almost 30 years now, and I love what I do! It all began in Mr. Dodge’s class, and I will forever be grateful. Vous me manquez, Monsieur Dodge…MERCI BEAUCOUP!

For eighteen years Ken was my department head and colleague. No one could find a kinder, gentler, humorous, generous work partner. He was truly a leader among his colleagues. I will always cherish my memories of this fine gentleman.

Condolences to the Dodge family. Like many I had Ken as my French teacher in high school. The girls got off easy in French class. Recently I met Ken again in May 2022 at the Grove when the the pet therapy program recommenced. I would bring Rudy in for a visit as I knew he had a soft spot for dogs.
Rest in peace.

I respected Ken as a fixture of the school, but that was his job and career. I respected even more and always remember that he was humble enough---and a good person enough---to show his respect too when colleagues were easily overlooked, as they passed on, by others who should have known better. Grace and class will out.
