Dear Casey, Quinn and Leslie, and everyone who loved Harold. I'm very sorry for the loss of your father. I hope there is bit of relief as you grieve, that his suffering is over. I remember Uncle Harold as the calm, smart, engaged and interested uncle. He always liked to talk and took an interest in his nieces and nephews when we saw us. Do you remember that time I came to visit you in the summer in Nepean? I sat at dinner and talked to both your parents about current events and politics. They did not shunt us off the to "kids" table. I also remember very well Harold's love and support when my dad Allan was failing due to dementia. He was a huge support to our family. Take care and I'll be thinking of you this week as you say goodbye to your dad. AJ Murray (in Vancouver)

This is very sad news. Hal was married to my cousin Elizabeth Carroll, and together they were one of the kindest and most generous couples I ever knew. Every chance they got, they would make the drive from Arnprior to Pembroke to visit my mother. Hal and my mother would sit there and tell stories about growing up in the Ruby/Killaloe area, and listening to them was always the highlight of the visits. They would talk about relatives that went back three and four generations, and the ones that Hal couldn't recall, my mother could. The last time I saw him was at cousin Tim's funeral, and we had a good chat there. He will be missed by many and thought of often. My condolences to Casey and Quinn and Leslie, and their families at the loss of this great man. May Harold rest in peace.
