Obituary of Rick Probetts
(Retired RCAF)
With great sadness, the family announces that Rick passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Saturday, June 24, 2023 as the result of an accident which occurred at his home a few days earlier.
Richard Gordon Probetts of Fitzroy Harbour was only 55.
Lifelong friend and partner of Gina Morris of Winnipeg, Mb.
Much loved Dad of Darian Mask (David), Samuel and Grady Probetts. Proud Grandpa of Zoe and a soon to be born grandson, Henry Richard due to arrive in November, 2023.
Dear brother of Mark Probetts (Arlene) and Rhonda Kearney (Mark).
Special uncle of Ashley and Dylan Kearney.
Also survived by the mother of his sons, his former wife, Joanne.
Rick was a military soul through and through. From an early age, he knew that being of service to his Country and fellow man was his calling.
Having held many different ranks within the RCAF, Rick finally retired as a Master Warrant Officer in 2018.
As he was not one to sit idle for very long, he took part in helping out at the Arnprior Legion in any and all ways that he could. He was recently elected Vice-President of the Arnprior Legion after having been Sergeant at Arms for several years. His enthusiasm and willingness to be of service to others made him a valuable and distinguished friend of many.
His spirit will be missed.
Rick’s final care has been entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where a Legion Tribute took place on Saturday afternoon, July 15th at 12:30 p.m. followed by public visitation from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and ending with a Service in memory of Rick in the Pilon Family Chapel at 3 o’clock. (1500 hrs).
A reception took place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 174, Arnprior.
