Obituary of Kevin Turcotte

With broken hearts, the Turcotte family announces the sudden passing of the most remarkable man who touched our lives in countless ways. Kevin/Turk, our beloved family patriarch passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was 71.

Kevin was the devoted husband and best friend of Heather (nee Girdwood) for 48 years and the adored and loved Dad of Chris (Andrea Postma) and Natalie (Chris Morris). He was the most cherished grandpa of Caelen and Paetra Turcotte and Corbin Morris.

He was the dear son of the late Bernard and Wanda (nee Mosley) Turcotte and the much admired brother of the late Kim (Patsy) Turcotte, Karen Turcotte and Kelly (Sean) Mulvihill.

Loved son-in-law of Norma Girdwood, and the late Fred (Kathleen) Girdwood and brother-in-law of Karen (Kevin) Ryan, Wayne (Sharon) Girdwood and Brian (Michelle) Girdwood.

Kevin was so loved by his many nieces and nephews but he shared a very special bond in particular with his goddaughters, Abby and Avery Mulvihill.

He will also be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Turk’s unwavering strength and zest for life despite the challenges of many illnesses was an inspiration to his family and friends.

He carried himself with an unbreakable spirit and boundless optimism that brought joy to everyone around him. The true embodiment of always looking on the bright side of life, Kevin truly brightened every room that he entered and left his mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

If you ever encountered Kevin out and about on his travels, then you likely enjoyed some of the candies and chocolates that he always kept hidden in his pocket, intended  to bring smiles to everyone’s faces. As we remember all the happy moments that we shared with him, our spirits are lifted by his legacy including his larger than life personality that can never be replaced.

Kevin found so much happiness on the golf course. He shared laughs and a true love of the game with countless friends and strangers who were just friends that he hadn’t made yet.

After his well-deserved retirement from a long career at Nordion/Best Theratronics, Kevin jumped at the chance to serve his community through Arnprior’s meals on wheels program where he made a friend out of every client he served.

With an undeniable knack to always know what other people needed, Kevin always jumped at the chance to help others without ever needing to be asked.

The memory of his smile and joyful demeanour will forever warm our hearts and remind us to cherish every single moment that we have with our loved ones.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Boersma and Dr. Greenough for their exceptional kindness and care shown to Kevin and the entire family over the past few years.

To celebrate a well lived life, the family will gather to honour his memory and celebrate the remarkable man that Kevin was.

His spirit will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

Kevin’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the

As we say our farewells, we will find solace in the thought that he is now teeing off on celestial fairways, enjoying endless rounds of golf, and reuniting with cherished family and friends who have gone before him.

We love you Kevin and will miss you endlessly.
