Obituary of Marlyn Lunney

On Sunday, September 10, 2023, Marlyn Lunney (nee Savard) passed away at the age of 88. Marlyn was the youngest daughter of Wes and Veronica Savard. She was born and raised in Arnprior. In 1953, she married Al Lunney. They lived in Pakenham for over 50 years where they raised their two daughters, Colleen and Maureen. Marlyn worked for many years as a dental receptionist in Arnprior. In her retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed her involvement with the Red Hat Society. Marlyn will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and her ability to light up a room with her infectious personality.

Marlyn is sadly missed by her daughters Colleen Sadler (Gord) and Maureen Hawel (Andrew). She was much loved by her grandchildren Chris Sadler (Kaytlin), Cailin Soucy (Joel) and Liam Hawel (Carley). Loved great grandmother of Payton, Bailey, Harrison and Forrester. Marlyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Al Lunney (April 4, 2022), as well as two daughters Mary and Joanne.

Also predeceased by siblings: Lois Hudson (late Jack), June Robertson (late David) and Ron Savard (Thelma), as well as in-laws: Rita Nugent (late John), Clare McInnes (late Jack), Ed Lunney (Bev), Hugh Lunney (late Mary), Jim Lunney (late Doris), Rev. Bill Lunney, Mgr. Len Lunney, Bernie Lunney (late Bob Hilyer) and Larry Lunney (Francine). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Special thank you to the staff at the Arnprior Villa for their compassion and care over the last 7 years.

Marlyn’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A private family service will be held prior to interment at St. Peter Celestine Parish Cemetery, Pakenham.
