My deepest condolences to John’s family. I’m deeply saddened to discover of his passing and your loss. I’m an ex-colleague and friend. We bonded over music, skateboarding, and many other things. John for example introduced me to skate videos of his favourite skateboarder at the time, Chris Joslin on Instagram and learning Spanish by listening to Spanish punk bands (we actually got to see one live by chance in Madrid together with Caroline). He also shared a clip with me of him in a skateboard movie from childhood which was a shared childhood dream. John kindly helped me out by letting me stay at his place when I needed a temporary place to stay. He was truly an amazing person. Really smart and funny. I’ll miss John and his Canadian Irish accent.

I was so saddened to hear of Johns passing. I have known him since kindergarten right through high school. In our younger years we were great friends. John and I in 1991. Always a good time with John. My first overseas trip was to visit him in London. I was honored that he flew to my wedding in BC in 1999. I was honored today to be part of his celebration of life. He showed us all how it was done. Always in my heart.

John and our daughter Caroline were together for around 10 years, until quite recently. We stayed at his home in Palmers Green and he at ours in Weston-super-Mare and he joined us over several years at Christmas and on other family occasions. Over that whole time we regarded and treated him as one of our family and were very sad to hear of his sudden passing. We used to enjoy going out walking with him, Caroline and Milo the dog in the local parks around Palmers Green. He was good and interesting company and we will always remember him.

Honouring Johnny. With my deepest condolences, I’m so sad for my cousins departure. So many people he touched will miss him in so many ways. From work, to strangers, to friends and family, he shared so much happiness with a kind heart and always made people laugh. He was a brilliant human and one that I will miss dearly. I have so many fond memories of growing up with Johnny, from one cent gums, to bmx bike rides through the woods to a little mischief here and there, lol. I like everyone else will miss John deeply: my heartfelt condolences go out to his family but I would like to think John would want us to celebrate his life and recall those humorous events which coupled with his underlying sincerity and kindness made him the person we loved:
He was foodie like myself and our circle of friends : I smile when I look at our collective email exchanges of food joints ! The photo was taken in July 2023: we were pictured outside one of our favourite restaurants in the east end of London that we all started going to from the year 2000.
I have to mention one very life changing thing Jon did for me - he landed me my very first IT contract by recommending and getting me to step into his departing role at Royal Mail back in 2003 after my years of being a permanent member of staff. I cannot thank him enough and will always be grateful to him: he thought of his friends as they think of him now and forever.
He was just a genuine guy and he left us too soon. I hope these messages from friends who cannot be there from UK therefore bring some comfort to you all, but are also taken as our fond celebration of his life.
Finally and from what Ciaran has written, if anyone has the charm and wit that we have very sadly lost to persuade the good Lord up there to use his influence so Tottenham Hotspurs finally get some silverware, its going to be John !

John was the funniest and most kind-hearted person I have ever worked with in my nearly 20 years of career. We became friends almost instantly and our friendship lasted long after our professional ways parted. Despite coming from different corners of the world, we had so many things to talk about and when I introduced John to my family, they immediately loved him, too. My kids adored his jokes and his ability to take things lightly, and they miss him as much as I do.

John, my good friend, will be dearly missed. His mischievous grin and great sense of humour brought so much joy to everyone who knew him. I was blessed to have met John through work decades ago and we had so many laughs in the office and outside. We even suffered watching Tottenham Hotspurs together last season. I worked alongside John for over a year at Planit and we are all shocked by his sudden loss.
