Obituary of George Colton

With sadness the family announces that George passed away at the Almonte General Hospital on Sunday, October 1, 2023. He was 84.

Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Pierce). Cherished Dad of Wilfred Colton, Lisa Gilmette (Travis) and Gennene Ruxton (Glenn). Loved Grandpa of Skylar, Brody, George, Layni and Leah and Great-Grandpa of Kamden and Parklyn.

George will be missed by his brothers: Frank (Helen) and Owen (Marilyn) and his sisters: Maryalice Nugent (late Wilfred), Sarah Woodley (Bob), Claire Brooking (Roger) and Martha Colton. Predeceased by three brothers: Burns, Leo and James “Jim” Colton (late Cecile) and his sister Frances Presley (late Raymond).

George’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Friday, October 6 from 2-4 and 6-8, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. A service to honour George will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.
