Obituary of Larry Winters

With sadness the family announces that Larry passed away at the
Ottawa Hospital – General Campus on Tuesday morning, November 14, 2023. He was 71.
Beloved husband and best friend of Maureen for over 50 years. Cherished Dad of Ryan Winters of PEI and Sean Winters (Genoa) of Calgary, AB. Fondly remembered grandpa of Damien, Shea and Lincoln. Dear brother of Carl (Jean), Helen Cowan (late Bob), Jackie Purdy (late Bill, late Stan Lisicky), Geraldine Woodbeck (late Mel) and Lois Montgomery (late Jack). Treasured godfather of Brad Graham, Heather Million and Brandi Montgomery. Larry was predeceased by his brothers George (late Wilma) and Don as well as his sister June Graham (late Rolly). Son of the late Walter and Mabel (nee Forbes) Winters. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Larry spent most of his life working in the printing industry. His proudest career accomplishment was working on Canada's first e-passport. Larry’s job led him all over the globe and he got to explore countries as diverse as Panama, Latvia and Kyrgyzstan. Larry's love for travel extended beyond his career, with visits to nearly every island in the Caribbean and frequent trips to Las Vegas.
Larry was an unwavering supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. Beyond the excitement of sports, he found joy in the great outdoors, relishing moments at the cottage and camping with friends. Larry leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and a profound appreciation for the simple joys in life.
Larry’s care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will take place on Monday afternoon, November 20th from 2-3. A service to honour Larry will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel on Monday at 3 o’clock. Reception to follow.
The Service will be webcast live for those unable to attend.
