Obituary of Kim Edge
(nee Poole)
With heavy and broken hearts the family announces that Kim passed away on Sunday morning, January 14, 2024, peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family at Ruddy Shenkman Hospice in Kanata. She was 57.
Cherished wife of Bill for over 30 years. Dearly loved and caring mother of Brendan, Kaitlynn and Nic. Treasured daughter of Sheilagh (nee McKay) and the late Phil Poole. Kim will be deeply missed by her only sister Shauna Lafrance (Dave) as well as her nephews Jacob and Andrew.
Kim was a selfless, vibrant, and loving person, always willing to place others before herself as seen in her engagements with organizations like the Friends of Killbear Provincial Park, the Arnprior Lionettes, the Arnprior Figure Skating Club and many other activities particularly those connected to her three children and through her career as a nurse.
A survivor and a fighter who always did it her way, Kim battled a congenital heart condition and early surgeries to live life to the fullest becoming a “damn good nurse” and raise a family. Losing her right leg below the knee to a blood clot three years ago did nothing to deter Kim’s spirit and she fought to learn to walk and live on her own terms again. Sadly, complications developed following a heart surgery in late October of 2023 which finally overcame her.
She went out on her own terms just as she lived her life. Now thy worldly task hast done…too soon.
Kim’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where visitation was held on Friday evening, January 19th from 6-9 and again on Saturday morning from 9-10:20.
A Funeral Mass took place at St. John Chrysostom Church Saturday morning, January 20th at 11 o’clock.
Reception followed in the parish hall.
