Obituary of Lyle Coulis
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lyle Stanley Coulis who left us peacefully in his sleep at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Lyle was in his 82nd year. Born on July 26, 1942 to the late Walter and Catherine (Menard) Coulas in St. Catherines, Ontario. Lyle grew up in Arnprior and attended Arnprior District Highschool. He served in the Signal Corp. of the Armed Forces from 1958 – 1968. He was a graduate of Carleton University in the high technology field and worked as a manager for Digital Equipment Canada. Lyle moved his family to Winnipeg in the late 70’s to work as a supervisor, then manager at Burroughs and then became an IT consultant for Deloitte. He took early retirement and settled back in Arnprior in 1992. Lyle leaves behind his four sons Michael (Donna) in Winnipeg, Christopher (Jan) in Ottawa, Scott in Almonte and Curtis (Sarah Munro) in Almonte. He was the grandfather to four beautiful grandchildren Kristin and Brayden in Winnipeg, Paige in Ottawa and Imagine in Fort St. John, BC. Lyle was the eldest brother to Earl in Arnprior, Tony (deceased 2009), Fran Evans (Ray Barnes) in Ottawa, Wally in Arnprior, Frank (Laura Duhn) in Spruce Grove, AB and Greg in Ottawa. Predeceased by his children’s Mothers Donna Elliott (Michael) and Lynda May Card (Chris, Scott and Curtis). He will be remembered for his great sense of humour, biking on the trails and his love of the Blue Jays baseball team, and science and technology. Special thanks to Dr. Boersma and the wonderful staff at the Arnprior Hospital. Also, thank you to The Villa and staff, in particular Rhonda Carson and Kristy Daze. There was private family graveside service on Friday, March 8, 2024.
