Obituary of Jean-Guy Asselin

With sadness the family announces that Jean-Guy passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Tuesday evening, April 9, 2024. He was 78.

Husband of the late Judith Asselin (2023).

Loved Dad of Leigh Grubb (Wayne) and Lloyd Asselin and stepfather of Michel Martineau (Natalie) and Mathieu Martineau (Debbie Davidson).

Proud and cherished Pépère of Olivia and Ava, and stepgrandpa of Jayden, Ashley and Jacob.

Dear brother of Marcelle Terris (Butch), Jacqueline Asselin (Allan Sykes), Denise Swift (Ted), Paul Asselin (Tammy) and Michel Asselin (Barb).

Son of the late Leopold and Gabrielle (nee Langevin) Asselin.

Jean-Guy was predeceased by his former wife Pamela (nee Travers).

Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Jean-Guy’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home.

He will be laid to rest at Tiverton Cemetery, Tiverton, Ontario.

Family and friends were invited to gather in Jean-Guy’s memory at his sister Jacqueline’s house, 9 Pine Ridge Drive, McNab/Braeside on Saturday afternoon, April 13^th from 2-4.

A private family burial will be held at the Tiverton Cemetery on Saturday, June 8th followed by a celebration of life lunch at the Tiverton Lions Club (61 Ross Street, Tiverton, Ontario) from 1 - 3pm.
